The Eco-Design Research Institute of the Academy of Arts & Design of Tsinghua University is committed to exploring collaborative innovation mechanisms and systematic design methods that integrate design, art, business, technology and engineering, and promoting research, teaching and practice in the field of ecological design at Tsinghua University. The team is not only concerned with basic research related to ecological design, but also strives to promote the implementation of the project, transforming the scientific research achievements of universities into the driving force for urban and rural construction and enterprise development, and thus participating in the process of national ecological civilization construction and sustainable development.
In recent years, the team has independently developed and cooperated with government agencies, public welfare organizations, enterprises and institutions to carry out a number of eco-design projects, which involve the zero-waste city planning, sanitation system service design, eco-agriculture, eco-toilet design, eco-material research and development, etc.; The scope of cooperation involves many fields such as industry standard setting, government consulting, product design and technology research and development. The team's current work focuses on research and planning design of new sanitation systems, urban minerals research and innovative design, urban and rural public facilities design, eco-toilets research and system design, community waste classification research and popular science design, and new eco-materials research and product application design.
